  • How to reduce cholesterol?

Note: I do not make any claims that the tips mentioned below will help you but it worked for me. So sharing "whatever worked for me".

My job includes sitting before a computer 12 to 16 hours a day and that's one reason why my cholesterol kicks up every now and then. Normally I go for a morning walk or evening walk but my physical workout is reduced in extreme winters. That's when my cholesterol (TG) kicks up. So I have to continue to take precautions and make certain changes as well as additions in my diet.

Here are a few things that will help you kick cholesterol (Triglycerides) out of your system

    Readymade solutions ..

Flax seeds: There are many recipes of how to make balls (pinni) of flax (Alsi) seeds. Flax seeds have antioxidants that kick away the bad fats (Triglycerides or cholesterol). One of the main components of flax is lignan, which has plant estrogen as well as antioxidants (flax contains up to 800 times more lignans than other plant foods contains). Please use these seeds ONLY in winters because these are hot in nature. Consuming these seeds in winters will also give you warmth inside, that's why it is not recommended to be consumed during summer season.

Sabja Seeds (Also known as Basil Seeds or Faluda Seeds): These seeds have almost similar properties as Flax seeds. Scientific studies have established that compounds in basil oil have potent antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties, and potential for use in treating cancer. These seeds can be consumed in summer season because these keep ya cool. This is the reason why these seeds are used in Faluda Icecream. People living in warm regions should use Sabja seeds instead of Flax seeds to kick away cholesterol.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Olive oil has wonderful curing properties. I have used it to cure many problems, even anal fissures. The extra virgin olive oil is just amazing! I have been using the Iliada Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil since a couple of years and it's just amazing! Using this oil will definitely help in reducing your cholesterol. You can search around the benefits of this oil, there is a truckload of information on the benefits of this oil. It's a matter of unending debate but what I've found is that Spanish and/or Greek extra virgin olive oil is better than the Italy produced extra virgin olive oils. It has something to do with "perfect climatic conditions" and all.

And now, the daddy of all! If your cholesterol has shot up above 250, you are in for a ride! And, you need to do something as quickly as possible or you are definitely going to feel some heaviness in your chest. Mine had shot up above 350 an year and half ago and that was pretty alarming. I made this wonder medicine that worked like a charm and reduced my cholesterol to 165 in about a month (actually, I checked my cholesterol after a month, the medicine may have worked way before a month).

Make this medicine, you can make it easily at home. Just follow these steps accurately:

Ingredients For Making Heart Vein Opening Drink Ingredients:

    1 cup Lemon juice
    1 cup Ginger juice
    1 cup Garlic juice
    1 cup Apple cider vinegar
    1/2 kg Natural Honey

Do not just buy the readymade crap (garlic paste, ginger paste, lemon bottles, etc) available in the malls. Buy some real ginger, garlic, lemons, etc. from your vegetables market. Buy about 0.5 KG of all of the ingredients mentioned above.

    Method:

Clean everything with fresh water. Cut and mince ginger and garlic separately. Then squeeze them to make one cup of juice of both. Cut lemons and then again squeeze them to make one cup of lemon juice. You should have one cup each of ginger, garlic and lemon. Then take a cup of Apple Cidar Vinegar. So that's total 4 cups of different ingredients.

Mix all of the four ingredients in a pan and simmer in low heat (keep the heat low, NOT high) for about 60 minutes or till solution reduces to 3 cups. It will become a little thick. Remove solution to cool. When the solution cools up, add 3 cups (almost 1/2 KG) of natural honey into your solution and mix it properly. Make sure to store in a glass jar that can be sealed airtight. Keep it protected from light and all and store in a cool dry place. Drink one tablespoon daily before breakfast. And if your cholesterol levels are way too high, you can take one teaspoon in the evening too.

Your cholesterol will reduce in about a month. It helped me, so I believe it may help you too. Plus, the ingredients used are natural but please do NOT take too much of it. Begin with just one teaspoon in the morning before breakfast and if it works for you, no need of taking too much into your system.

I just prepared some today and it was fun making it

Latest research points out that its not necessarily cholesterol thats the issue, but its a bit more involved than that

Well, I don't know much about which research are you talking about bro but I'm just talking about things that worked for me. The best research is the one that you've done yourself

And, nothing can match brisk walking if you wish to get your triglycerides down in little time.

Correct. The total cholesterol is just a number. One needs to keep the HDL and LDL ratio in check. This is best done by walking for an hour every day. Other stuff like flax seed etc also help.

The two types of lipoproteins that carry cholesterol to and from cells are low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, and high-density lipoprotein, or HDL. LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol, along with one fifth of your triglyceride level, make up your total cholesterol count, which can be determined through a blood test.

            LDL (Bad) Cholesterol

LDL cholesterol is considered the “bad” cholesterol because it contributes to plaque, a thick, hard deposit that can clog arteries and make them less flexible. This condition is known as atherosclerosis. If a clot forms and blocks a narrowed artery, heart attack or stroke can result. Another condition called peripheral artery disease can develop when plaque buildup narrows an artery supplying blood to the legs.

            Triglycerides

Triglycerides are another type of fat, and they’re used to store excess energy from your diet. High levels of triglycerides in the blood are associated with atherosclerosis. Elevated triglycerides can be caused by overweight and obesity, physical inactivity, cigarette smoking, excess alcohol consumption and a diet very high in carbohydrates (more than 60 percent of total calories). Underlying diseases or genetic disorders are sometimes the cause of high triglycerides. People with high triglycerides often have a high total cholesterol level, including a high LDL cholesterol (bad) level and a low HDL cholesterol (good) level. Many people with heart disease or diabetes also have high triglyceride levels.

              Re: How to reduce cholesterol?

I don't have any heart disease or any heart problems but my problem is associated with "physical inactivity" because of the type of job I'm doing.

By the way, the reason I mentioned all of the above was just to share something that worked for me. I don't wish to associate my high TG problem with vaping because I don't have any evidence of that. But at the same time, I can't say that it is not possible. It could be because of vaping VG. VG is vegetable glycerine and the other name of VG is Glycaride and has direct connection with Triglycerides in our body.

Again, I can't say that my problem is definitely because of vaping but anyway, posted it all just in general. If anyone has cholesterol problems (raised LDL or TG levels), they may be benefited from those methods I have discussed in the first post
