  • 18650 Battery Charger Specs

    Hi all,
Was hoping to get some information about battery chargers.
I want to use the charger for 18650 batteries with 20-30A max discharge (the usual suspects - Samsung 25R, LG HG2, etc.).

What are the specifications I should look for when buying a battery charger for this use. Detailed information would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Anony,

well the most important thing to consider is battery safety, specifically overcharge protection. Try these ones, they are the best among all and easily available:

Nitecore D2 (2 bay charger if you like nice LCD screen and almost all battery types)

Nitecore i4 (4 bay for the same price ad D2, has all protections but no LCD screen, this one is highly recommended)

Try searching on youtube and you will get detailed reviews also this video will be helpful

Nitecore D2 is my favorite ... You can also buy the eFest LUC V2, that's also a very good charger.

You don't have to worry about the specs, charging current and all since good quality chargers limit to 0.5 to 1Amp charging which is pretty safe. Some chargers allow you to select charging current (which is for faster charging a battery) but stick to 0.5A charging, good for the battery life.

Thanks guys, think I'm going to go with D2.
Wanted to ask one more question.
        Does it support 110-240v input.
I'm asking because I'll be travelling with it.

The specs on the Nitecore D2 here shows ...

          Input Type AC 100~240V

So yes, you can use any type of voltage on this charger to charge the batteries. However, you may need a US plug if you are visiting the US.
