  • Recommended 18650 batteries?

I have ordered Vamo V8 recently but came to know that its gonna ship without Batteries..

    I have 2 questions:

    1) Can you guys recommend me some good/budgeted 18650 batteries brands and the shop who ships to India?

    2) I have order one battery from ebay.in and the specifications are 18650 VTC4 Original High Drain 30Amp Limit Rechargable Battery / 3.7V and this charger http://www.ebay.in/itm/181696741836?...84.m1439.l2649 since it was cheap :P. will it work?

    Please advise gurus.

Mayanks, the link you shared takes me to a battery charger listing on eBay, I'd stay away from cheap electronics when charging batteries . If you need batteries immediately check with Andy if he has Efest batteries in stock. You can buy Samsung 25r, LG HE2, HE4, SONY VTC5 from fasttech.

Sony vtc batteries are the most counterfeited and one should be careful of the source of purchase.

^This. I can get Sonys for $1 per battery from China. Tell me how many you need. But if you care for your hand or your face, listen to Sunny bhai religiously. There's SO MUCH fake stuff being sold even at some of the reputed shops worldwide, leaves you with a jawdrop.

I bought my batteries directly through eFest, can't get any better than that. Got plenty of 18350, 18500 and a few 18650s. But again, if you wish to save money, better order it from FT. It's a trusted place for batteries but the shipping may take about 3 to 4 weeks.

        It's your call bro.

Ok, you bought it from Souvik - use it and see - if it lasts long, really, long - then its fine
But anyway, i stay away from VTC as i have heard the sony has discontinued these - not sure.

I can confirm the AW IMR batteries being sold by Souvik are fake. I checked with Andrew Wan on Cpfmarketplace, unfortunately there is no way to contact Sony

                  Re: Recommended 18650 batteries?

My regular setup is very common and flawless:
                  - Samsung 25R (https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/...r-3-6v-2500mah)
                  - Nitecore D2 (http://lightorati.in/batteries-charg...digicharger-d2)
                  - Nitecore UM10 (see Sattrish's post above)

                  I trust these are originals.

                    Kalc Bhai,
Sony hasn't discontinued the VTC's they just banned the sales to non batt. bank manufacturers, this way they don't want to be blamed for any mishap ( if any). They are still selling them to OEM's who are using them to make laptop's battery packs.

                      Re: Recommended 18650 batteries?

Ah, ok , thats why Ron was taking them out of batt packs in some post
So does a new VTC mean one that has been removed from a batt pack meant for a lappy - God knows after what usage?

Thanks for confirming buddy but if i compare the battery i have received with this article http://www.sun-vapers.com/how-to-spo...-vtc5-battery/ , it says real. Well i dont know much, not a pro. May be i am wrong.

There are lots of batts out there - anyway, fyi, i use the purple efests - have around a dozen and a few others
But really like them - work like a charm.
Bought one from Souvik - it discharges in no time - so dont use it.
